The beginning

All things come to an end
so that some things can be renewed,
and some things can be here for the first time.
The cycle of life is a recycle of life,
nutrients break down and nourish others
in ways remarkable in their diversity.
Rock becomes gravel becomes sand becomes glass,
changing, rearranging shapes and states,
pushing our understanding of the world
to the boundaries of our own limitations,
each generation pushing out further and further,
exploring, understanding, ending, and starting.
And with our physical shell, we change,
metamorphosis - like butterflies,
and just because we do not yet see the other side
of that ending, does not mean that
there is no other side.
It means only that there is more to explore and understand
for the next and the next and the next to be born.
