Skip

I thought of skipping this day's poem,
no muse presented itself,
no poignant memory, nor funny moment
turned on the metaphorical lightbulb above my head.
The thought bubble is blank.
Instead I am making lists of tasks,
listening to the washing machine traverse the floor again,
and deciding what to make for lunch.
Is it bad to skip a day in
a challenge for the month?
I cannot tell, and so just to be safe,
these words have flown from brain to screen
in case there is a consequence for
wanting to skip.
